Sailing Lessons
All the fundamentals you need to sail a boat. Basic seamanship and a lot of fun.
General Information
- This program will utilize our Catalina 14.2 sailboats and, as of this writing, the intended purchase of some Optimist sailboats to start a racing program.
- Participants will learn the knots, parts of the boat and sailing theory from chalkboard to the waters of the Fore River and Quincy and Hingham Bays.
- Signing up for the appropriate sailing level is crucial for skill development.
- Plenty of hands on sailing. Ratios: 3:1
- In the event of rain Lane Beach boating will be cancelled! We are trying to keep from having the whole staff staying on those cold wet days just for the fewest of brave participants.
- Cancellation notices will be e-mailed to participants as soon as possible and posted to our web-page.
- You may also call the Recreation office at 781-682-6124.
- The staff will determine whether or not the conditions are suitable for lessons and the staff only gets paid if they teach.
- August 3rd – 5th Race week Test you abilities. Sign up for your favorite starting July 12th.
